Where's My F#@kin Genesis

This is the video for "Where's my Genesis" by Charles Hamilton. I'm Telling you the kid is the future of hip hop. Anyone that can rap over Sonic the Hedgehog music and still sound good has to be the truth.

Who will Watch the Watchmen

After seeing this trailer maybe 5 times ive realized that the music that accompanies this movie more than anything is what is making me want to see this the scenes from the film seem cool but the plot and the background don't move me maybe i'm not just into this flawed superhero thing we had to deal with that enough in Batman and Spiderman 3 but you be the judge

Robo Trippin'

I was watching the Sly Fox network and they did a story on something called "Robo Trippin'". To sum it all up, it's when these bugged out white kids don't have a damn thing to do at home but go through the medicine cabinet and chug cough syrup. At first, I laughed at the idea, but after watching some of these "Robo-Trip" episodes on YouTube, I have to admit even I was a bit disturbed.

By posting this video, I'm in no way trying to promote overdosing on over the counter or prescription drugs. I'm more so trying to promote the awareness of what's going on in white suburban homes. Why? Because these are the same teenagers that will wind up shooting their high schools up, while the parents are dumbfounded, stating they "never saw it coming". Well parents, here's your warning!

Baby Girl So Thoro

I'm not a big fan of the WNBA...ok, I'm not a fan at all of the WNBA. But as I was channel surfing last night, I came across the Los Angeles Sparks taking on the Detroit Shock. I'd normally change the channel, but I got a thing for Candace Parker plus there was only a like 20 some odd seconds left.

I say all that to say this...boy was I happy I kept the game on! Here's the video from last night's LA/Detroit brawl. I can't help but LMAO at Rick Mahorn thinking this is back when he was playing for the Pistons and forgetting Lisa Leslie's not Charles Barkley.

House of Wax

BMW will always have a special place in my heart not because of the innovative engineering that is their hallmark to auto enthusiast, but for their marketing which is also top notch. Here is an example why I consider this car company valedictorian of the luxury class. This is an exhibit showcasing the new BMW 7 series in Moscow by putting it in the worlds largest hourglass in anticipation for the launch. On the actual site there is a countdown clock which coincides with the hourglass. This is a very noteworthy project and I look forward to seeing BMW continuing their excellence in marketing.

King of NY

Yo this dude is off the hook. A severe Case of N@igga Nonsense. The sad part is he could probably be the hottest rapper from NY right now.(LOL Just Kidding) If this wasn't so blasphemes I would say he was my new favorite rapper. His name is Prince Metropolis Nome this has to be one of the funniest videos I seen in a while. If their are any Catholics out their, Watch at Your Own Discretion

Faster Blade

I was introduced to Currensy in what was maybe 2006 with his monster summer single Where the Cash at which was basically considered Waynes single in the publics eye but I always felt that he kind of stole the show. But you know that was the beggining of the ascension of Mr.D Carter to rap prominence. But with that being said this mixtape was a welcome suprise and in my opinon better than last months Fear and Loathing in New Orleans.
So for your listening pleasure Currensy-Super Tecmo Bowl

Since I refuse to support this network for obvious reasons I did not see this live. But due to the coverage from hip hop media outlets and word of mouth. GlobeTrotting

IT is readily apparent Cameron Giles the IIIrd better known to the world as Cam'ron, Cam, Killa, Killa Cam'ron (as of late). We often get into arguments and have to explain ourselves to respected hip hop fans who often question our reasons for heaping all this praise and attention on this man. Many fans defend and tout their favorite rappers by pointing to their success in record stores and overall records sales. Others usually point to their "5 mic" and/or classic records under said artist belt. Those are not bad ways to validate an artist... well maybe not the second one but I digress, What I use to validate Cam'ron or as we affectionately call him Mr.Giles is his fun quotient. Yes I used that term, but what else would I use to evaluate his greatness. For one what rapper uses words like : finicky, doy,Vagina. Then go and mention Snoopy posters, and Schneider from the 80's sitcom One day at a time.

Who else gives such eloquent and engaging interviews in the rap game. Cam'ron thats who check his resume' 60 minutes he killed it, Fox News destroyed O'Reilly the average hood DVD he is notorious for stealing the spotlight. With that being said there should be no more questioning our choice of entertainment because Cam'ron' s fun quotient > your favorite rappers.

God speed and goodnight.

Pardon Mine

The name Karlton Hines has sparked my interest ever since hearing it being mentioned in the Cam'ron's famous child of the ghetto freestyle so here is the video chronicling this interesting but tragic figure.

Its pretty lengthy so if its your thing enjoy

Flashing Lights

And just when I thought Verizon was forever relegated as the most unpopular phone company in the eyes of me and my contemporaries (its cool that i actually have contemporaries) It was announced that Verizon will be the only company in the fall to launch the Touch Blackberry.

The Downfall of Hip Hop

Joe Budden - Who?(Part 1)
Something is wrong with the state of hip hop, when a rapper like Joe Budden can't sell records or even get recognition for being one of the nicest in the game. On this song Joe speaks on all the things that destroyed Hip Hop and made it hard for an MC like him to shine. Hopefully with more music like this people will see the real and start supporting rapper like this.

Don't Call It A Comeback

Ok, I guess I'll post this story because apparently ESPN has nothing better to report about either. Old man Favre has an "itch" to play football again. Big surprise there, right? My question is, how is this a comeback? He hasn't missed a game yet, so technically he's never left the NFL.

Let's face it, everyone's been speculating he would play another season since his boo-hooing press conference announcing his "retirement". So I'm just going to take this report a step further and wish him and his Packers good luck in the season ahead because it's evident you'll still be the starting QB.

I Was Better Than You When I Was 16

Little break from basketball and 4-D baby sonograms. Top Dominican baseball prospect Michel Inoa signed a deal with the Oakland Athletics today. He's said to get a $4.25 million bonus with the A's. Not bad...for a 16-year-old!

Turf Wars

Seems like the Warriors are pretty upset with Baron Davis signing (in principle) to the Clips. Golden State puts a monkey wrench in L.A.'s potential one-two punch of B. Diddy and Elton Brand, by offering Brand a maximum salary contract.
I think this is a big power move by G.S. It gives them a presence down low, and it'll help Monta Ellis look better making that switch over to full-time point guard.

Slow Down

Number 1 draft pick Derrick Rose is due in court next week for an excessive speeding ticket he received in late April.

Who hasn't had an excessive speeding ticket in their time? Especially when you're Rose's age. I don't think its a big deal, but it was already breaking news on ESPN and USAToday. Welcome to the league kid.

...When I Was Back Home

I'm a little late posting this one. Baron Davis and the Clippers agree in principle to a 5-year, $65 million contract. The move brings B-Diddy back to his hometown of Los Angeles and moves the Clips from a perennial lottery team to a contender in the West.

Now I don't think that the Clippers are going to win the championship next year, but with Phoenix and Dallas coming off disappointing playoff runs and getting up there in age, it's hard to count the Clippers out of the playoff hunt out West. However, the key to their contention is staying healthy. Elton Brand will most likely be back in a Clippers uniform, but he and Davis have struggled with injuries throughout their respected careers.

I, for one, hope they do stay healthy. Baron's one of my favorite point guards and I'd love to see him and NY-native Brand go deep in the playoffs in '09.

PS: Knicks lose...again.

Must Be The Money

My inbox on my Blackberry Curve was filled with texts regarding free agent signings in the league. Sorry I didn't post this sooner. I've been busy working on my game too...trying to get a piece of the pie. J/k.

Anyway, to my fellow Knicks fans, if the story about the Brooklyn Nets signing LeBron over your beloved team didn't hurt enough, maybe this one will. Don't worry, we'll make due with this guy, right??

Queens Get the Money

Here at rap on steroids we post what we are passionate about. Even if that means forgoing a hip hop related post in favor of a piece on Derrick Rose. That is just us we were raised on basketball and biggie. Jump shots and Jay....you get the point so we are trying to walk that fine line of bringing the best in sports and hip hop music and hopefully entertain you at the same time.

Get the Date Jumping

I'm sure every other blog in the world has this mixtape ready for you to download, but did they post the back of the album like we do. I think not we are trend setters over here at R.O.S baby so here for your listening pleasure Cool Kids-Thats Stupid the Mixtape

Hello Brooklyn

I know a lot of Knicks fans are hoping that their beloved basketball team will eventually get under the cap and make a push for LeBron James when he becomes a free agent in '10. If you're one of them, this story might break your optimistic hopes.

My opinion: Cleveland is not going to let King James go that easily. I'm sure they won't let Arenas see more money for 6 years than he will (see here).
